DIY In Style: Top 5 Home Decor DIY Projects
I often spend my down time working on some sort of DIY project and so I thought it was high time that I curated a list of my top 5 home decor projects. These projects range from the fairly simple to the complex, but each one is tons of fun and will leave you with an amazing piece of decor that you can call your own. Check out my list below.
#5 — Rustic Bookshelf
A beautiful shelf at a beautiful cost.
If you’re anything like us here at HomesJournal, you’ll always have at least one eye open for the next beautiful addition to make to your home. Not only is this rustic bookshelf an absolute beauty, but also it’s a project that won’t leave your wallet empty!
#4 — Outdoor Movie Screen
Turn the great outdoors into the greatest movie theatre.
Who says summer has to end in September? With this DIY movie screen, it’ll be a breeze entertaining friends and family in an outdoor environment! No room at your place? Not a problem! The instructions include a method to make this movie screen a portable movie screen.
#3 — Dining Table
Got an old door you hate? Turn it into a gorgeous table!
This DIY project is unlike any other—it’s your door (pun intended)—to creating an absolutely beautiful dining table. Take any bland door, either from your own home or one purchased from a retailer, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and you’ll be well on your way.
#2 — Mobile Bathroom Storage
If you need some extra storage space in your bathroom, here’s your answer.
Up until a month ago, my bathroom was a disorganized mess. Cologne, shampoo, soap, towels, to mention a few things, were stored in the unreachable crevices of my bathroom closet — that is, until this DIY project. This portable storage unit made a great addition to my home and it turned my bathroom from a disaster into an organized haven (that’s right, a haven).
#1 — DIY Canvas Art
Your shower curtain just became your home’s newest art exhibit.
I absolutely love art (despite how bad I am at drawing/painting) and so it’s no surprise why this project is at the number one spot. I was looking for a DIY project that was easy to do, inexpensive, and yet still produced a beautiful piece of decor for my home and this project was it. Take down that cliché Mona Lisa, my friend and get to work on this project; you won’t regret it!
